4th Annual Zihuatanejo International Guitar Festival
March 11 – 18, 2007 Announces line-up of Musicians

With funds generated from past festivals, ZI-Guitar Fest AC, the governing body of the Zihuatanejo International Guitar Festival was able to buy instruments, textbooks, furniture and pay the annual rent for a school building in central Zihuatanejo for the EMEC. The beneficiary for 2006 and again for 2007, will be the Zihuatanejo Casa de la Cultura, which offers free courses in Folkloric Dance, Art,Literature, Music, Classical Ballet, Modern Dance, Theater, Crafts, among others.

The fourth annual Zihuatanejo International Guitar Festival is a week-long live music extravaganza with approximately 20 international musicians scheduled to perform on six different stages which includes, an Opening Concert on Sunday March 11, at Carlos n’ Charlies in Ixtapa, doors open at five p.m.; A free and open to the public Children’s Concert held Thursday, March 15; and a Closing Concert, Saturday March 17, at EL Pueblito Restaurant in Zihuatanejo, doors open at five p.m.; as well as multiple nightly Gala Dinner and bar shows during the week. Individual tickets will be for sale at the door and all-access passes are available. The ZIGF is proud to announce its 2007 Festival lineup. The following musicians have been selected to attend:

Steve Wilson – Houston, Texas, U.S.A.
Powerful vocals, haunting acoustic clarity, and thoughtful lyrics equals music that speaks to you.

Steve Pierson – Los Angeles, CA, U.S.A.
Energetic, fun, sexy, funky, and soulful Blues music. Featuring amazing musicianship, outstanding showmanship, and genre-bending songwriting.

Beaucoup Blue – Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.
Father and son duo of David and Adrian Mowry. Their music steeped in Americana is influenced by Blues, Folk, Soul, R&B, Jazz, Country, and Bluegrass. A range of instruments and two soulful voices blend together like only family members can.

Pat Guadagno – Newark, New Jersey, U.S.A.
The New York Times called Pat Guadagno “A well-traveled troubadour with a remarkable repertoire that spans decades of Country, Blues, Rock and Soul music…. The musical journey is always an unpredictable ride.“

Jocelyn Celaya – San Diego, CA, U.S.A. /Rosarito, Mexico
Jocelyn Celaya is a Radical Classical Guitarist and Vocalist from San Diego California and Rosarito, Mexico. Having affection for eclectic musical styles, she sings and composes her own music by blending genres, along with utilizing many other techniques from all over the world. She has been placed in a category all of her own. It is a unique fusion of methods and styles that have a classical foundation on the classical guitar and vocals. It is radical classical. Best Pop Instrumental Jocelyn has become one of the most requested artists on PBS (O.E.T.A) and has had her music and concerts aired on other PBS programs, Telemundo and Clear Channel. In 2002, she was given an award from the Nashville Songwriters Association International and later in 2006 became the youngest guitarist to receive the award as a Lifetime Honoree Member/Performer for the Association of Finger Style Guitarists. The National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences Committee placed Jocelyn on the Official Ballot for the 2007 Grammy Awards in the following categories: Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, Album and Best New Artist.Jocelyn has had the honor of performing for and/or worked with distinguished and diverse listeners that include the world famous Romero’s Family, the Queen of England’s royal entourage, P.O.D., Switch Foot, Preston Reed, Ruben Romero, Pearl Jam and many others.

Peter Lang – Minneapolis, Minnesota, U.S.A.
“Lang is still firmly rooted in the 60s/70’s John Fahey/Leo Kottke blues/folk/Americana styling that he helped pioneer, and it is certainly refreshing to hear it being played this well by one of the old masters.” –Dirty Linen, May 2002

Nick Vigarino – Seattle, Washington, U.S.A.
Vigarino radiates an unpredictable fervor with his slashing acoustic slide guitar and powerful vocals. Funky licks and modern lyrics color his homemade “slop-jar Delta funk” material. With his band or solo, he consistently captures and then rivets listeners with precise, passionate performances.

Dave Feder – Miami, Florida, U.S.A.
David Feder performs world-wide as a solo artist, playing all original songs. In his live festival performances, his music is funny (usually politically incorrect) and emotionally charged. Dave is a world class master musician. And his acoustic fingerstyle guitar playing antics have dazzled audiences all over the planet.
Dave now also performs with his son Nyan, an up and coming finger-style guitarist in his own right.

Arina Burceva – Minsk, Belarus
Ukranian –born guitarist Arina Burceva has delighted numerous audiences with her passionate dynamic performances and lyrical interpretations. A graduate of San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Arina has won first prizes at national competitions, performed as a soloist with a guitar orchestra, played for the Governor of California and for the President of the United States. Her repertoire boasts a variety of jewels from Classical, Baroque to Flamenco, World and Jazz.

Tim Williams – Calgary, Canada
High energy – Finger Style Blues, Ragtime & Slide Guitar – originally from California, long-time Canadian resident. Tim Williams is an in-demand performer, producer, studio musician, and guitar instructor. His music has taken him to much of North America, as well as appearances in Great Britain, Australia, Morocco, and Cuba. He is also an award-winning composer and musical director for live theatre.

Twelve Strings – Berlin, Germany
Award-winning duo of Thomas Glatzer and Matthias Wiesenhutter – have played together for more than ten years with great synchronization, timing, and composition. They play on a classical concert guitar and a “Plektrum” guitar. Their music ranges from Classical to Jazz.

Ruben Alejandro Reyes J. – Toluca, Mexico
Ruben Alejandro Reyes is originally from Mexico state. He graduated from the Escuela de Bellas Artes de Jocotitlan/Fine Arts school of Jocotitlan and the Conservatorio de Musica del Estado de Mexico/Mexico State Music Conservatory, where he obtained his degree under the tutelage of Sergio Damian Wilson. During his studies he placed in second place in the II Encuentro Cultural Ixtapaluca Mexico, and received Honorable Mention in the Presea al Merito del COMEM. In 2000 he was selected by the government of the State of Mexico to offer concerts across the state.

Josie Kuhn – Nashville, U.S.A./Zihuatanejo, Mexico
Zihua’s Own – Josie has been called “One of the leading women in the Americana movement” – a singer/songwriter/guitarist, she has 4 CD’s to her name and has toured the world. Her songs will make you think, make you cry or make you laugh and the words and melodies will stay with you long after the curtain goes down. “If you can imagine a cross between Patsy Cline and Buffy St. Marie you’re not far off the mark.”

Jose Luis Cobo – Zihuatanejo, Mexico
Troba, Latin Folk – Zihuatanejo’s own post laureate and Zihuatanejo International Guitar Festival Ambassador. Local legend who has recorded and performed across Europe and Mexico but prefers to entertain his loyal following at his legendary Zihuatanejo bar, El Canto de la Sirena, named after his popular song.
