Welcome to Another Day in Paradise.

Ahhh February…Not only the month of love, but the month of Mardi Gras and Carnaval. And traditionally that means a time of fun frivolous excess, a time to eat all the meat before the fast of Lent. “A man hath no better thing under the sun than to eat, and to drink, and to be merry,” so sayeth the Bible, in Ecclesiastes 8:15. But even for the pagans among us and us pagans, it has long been a time of revelry—and dare I say, it comes not a moment too soon!

Time to kick up your heels and enjoy a bit, if you survived December and January—you deserve it! So go bejewel yourself with pretty glittery things and join the carnival of life. And to help you along your way this month, we have compiled an edition chock-full of pretty things and sparkling things (and interesting things, and historic things, and arty things) and all those other great things we try to toss into the mix each month, to make it worth your while to heft and tote around this heavy (and-getting-heavier-still) tome of all things Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo. No sir, we are not pocket-sized! We will not be shoved into pockets! Especially not in February, this month of love, this month of big and bold gestures, this month of drama and pageantry…this month of chocolate.

So go forth and be glorious, it is February and indulgence is the word for February…and you can tell them that I said it was ok.

Until next time
